Kevin L. Sutherland, MBA; President, Spectrum Acquisitions, Inc.

After completing a tour in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Sutherland earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Irvine. He then founded and built a turnaround management consulting firm with four offices in three western states. He was appointed to manage numerous companies by various boards of directors and client banks. Mr. Sutherland managed or advised over 40 different distributors, manufacturers, and service companies with revenues from $2 million to $185 million. With his own capital he later acquired and sold four separate companies in California, Idaho and Florida. He has first hand experience in merging companies as well forming joint ventures and strategic alliances. As founder of Secured Asset Venture Equities (S.A.V.E.) he has directly provided capital in the form of equity as well as new and restructured debt.

Mr. Sutherland’s company manages and maintains a database of over 3,700 private equity groups (2,800 in the U.S. plus over 900 internationally). These private equity groups are similar to mutual funds with the exception that they acquire, or invest in, private as opposed to public companies. These 3,700+ private equity groups are introduced to the majority of Mr. Sutherland’s sell-side engagements. Mr. Sutherland represents both buyers and sellers of middle-market companies, as well as undertakes equity placements, debt restructurings, bridge loans, acquisition financings, and other types of corporate financings and restructurings.

Mr. Sutherland has been published and featured in a number of periodicals including the Orange County Register Business Section and the Journal of Corporate Renewal. Along with his MBA Mr. Sutherland holds a Broker's license from the California Department of Real Estate as well as a Series 7 (General Securities) and a Series 66 (Uniform Combined Securities Agent/Investment Advisor) license from the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD).
